Ciro the Zero

I've been asking my congressmonkey, Ciro Rodriguez, for MONTHS to get something done in congress about the high energy prices that are helping to cripple this country. He writes back that he pushed for the suspension of deposits to the Strategic Energy Reserve. What a buffoon. Now, I look at his website, and find this piece of crap, advising us to conserve energy. Nothing about exploiting reserves here in the US. This idiot needs to go. There's a reason he was tossed once. Now he needs to be tossed again.

Check it out...from his own website:

Energy Efficiency at your Home

On Wednesday July 9th I hosted a Tele-Town Hall where we discussed current energy policy with Congressman Gene Green from Houston, Energy Research and Development Projects with Mr. Avant from Texas A&M and discussed resources for how you can save on energy costs at your home. Below are some of the tips we discussed and links to other great resources.

Some helpful tips for increased efficiency in your homes:

* Use ceiling and portable fans. They use very little electricity to circulate air in the house. You can set the thermostat for your air conditioning at 85°F and still maintain the comfort of a lower temperature.
* Seal and caulk major air leaks around windows, door, electrical outlets, plumbing fixtures and outside architectural features like chimneys.
* Make sure you get your heating and/or cooling ducts checked for leaks when installing a new system.
* Install white window shades, drapes, or blinds to reflect heat away from the house.
* Improved landscaping. A well-designed landscape not only can add beauty to your home but it also can reduce your heating and cooling costs. On average, landscaping for energy efficiency provides enough energy savings to return an initial investment in less than 8 years. For the San Antonio climate, it's best to maximize summer shade with trees that still allow penetration of low-angle winter sun. Also, avoid locating planting beds close to the home if they require frequent watering.

Home Energy Saver

Home Energy Saver is designed to help consumers identify the best ways to save energy in their homes. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy with support from the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Housing.

American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to advancing energy efficiency by providing up-to-date information.

This moron wants you to set your thermostat at 85? I wonder what his thermostat is set at on those warm Washington days. I'll bet it ain't 85.

Ciro got elected in a runoff against Henry Bonilla. Ciro ran on the "I'll challenge George Bush" strategy in 2006. Since then, he's done nothing for the people of his district of any real import. Now we have high energy prices and he sits on his hands. No one is asking him to propose freezing prices or nationalize the oil industry (Maxine Waters, call your office, they found your brain), but simply to allow Americans to exploit their national resources as they see fit. Ciro doesn't want you do determine your destiny. He wants you do be dependent on him.
