And now for a word from the Village idiot...

From the Detroit News

U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D- Mass., who was in town Sunday to help Gov. Jennifer Granholm campaign for her re-election bid, took time to take a jab at the Bush administration for its lack of leadership in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict.

"If I was president, this wouldn't have happened," said Kerry during a noon stop at Honest John's bar and grill in Detroit's Cass Corridor.

Bush has been so concentrated on the war in Iraq that other Middle East tension arose as a result, he said.

"The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East," Kerry said. "We're going to have a lot of ground to make up (in 2008) because of it."

I'm still waiting for 2 things out of Monsiuer Kerry: his secret plan for America's success against the terrorists, and the release of his military records. Unit he does these, he gets no respect from me. Probably even afterwards, too

Thank you, ACLU

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — A United Nations human rights body expressed grave concerns today about the record of human rights in the United States. The American Civil Liberties Union with a delegation of 10 and working with a broad coalition of other groups is in Geneva to monitor the examination of the United States the U.N. Human Rights Committee (HRC).

In a two-day session that concluded today, the committee members pressured the United States for answers on the following issues:

The sentencing of children to life without parole and the disproportionate incarceration of minorities;
The militarization of the border;
The failure to prevent human rights violations and respond in a non discriminatory manner to Hurricane Katrina;
The failure to end racial profiling practices, specifically the profiling of South Asian convenience store employees in Georgia;
Warrantless spying on ordinary Americans;
The abuse of women in prison; and
The indefinite detention, rendition and torture of non-citizens.

“The U.S. should be ashamed of itself,” said Ann Beeson, Director of the ACLU’s Human Rights Program. “The review by the Human Rights Committee was a stark and all too accurate condemnation of the state of rights in America.”

Dear ACLU,

Thank you so much for being concerned with my civil liberties. As an American, i can certainly appreciate the freedoms we have and want to protect them in any way I can. I also would like to say that it’s impossible to be free when you’re f*cking dead. I don’t know of any case where the constitutional rights of Americans have been violated because of President Bush’s Administration. Your organization has become such a tool of the Internationale singers and the MoveOn crowd, that you have forgotten that without an America and its citizens, there will be no need to protect civil rights. If you think Bush and the GOP are violating rights of Americans, you’re gonna have a f*ckin’ stroke over what the worldwide Islamic caliphate would do to American rights. Better get fitted for that Burkha now, Ann. You’re gonna need it, the way you’re going.

Yeah, dude. we'd rather you die on your feet too. Of course, all we care about is that you die. In fact, we would like to tape it. We'd like to be there when it happens. We would love for your last vision before you die is the one of the ghost of every Israeli that your people have killed. We want you to become a fighter in Lebanon; the Israelis are running out of good targets.

What, you're not dead yet? What the hell is taking you so long?

Yeah, not a lot of posting...

...but it's mainly because i'm so fascinated by this escalation over in the Mideast. I find it very interesting that Putin considers the Israeli response to be disproportionate, as does Jacques Chirac. Last time I checked, you're SUPPOSED to use overwhelming force when fighting an enemy. Think about it. Did we measure our tactics in WWII this way? And did we win that war? Now think about this: The last time we "measured" our military action was in Vietnam. We all know how that turned out.

Israel NEEDS to use overwhelming force against these throwbacks to the 7th Century.

Want 'em out? Give back the soldier. It's that f'ing simple

From AFP via Breitbart:

The UN Security Council debated a draft resolution demanding an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the release of detained Palestinian officials but the United States described it as "unbalanced".

Experts from the 15-member council met behind closed doors to discuss a draft, presented by Qatar on behalf of the UN's Arab Group, which also calls on Israel, as the occupying power, to abide by its obligations under the Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians in time of war.

The UN debate took place as Israel thrust deep into the Gaza Strip in its largest and deadliest operation in months, reoccupying areas evacuated 10 months ago. Twenty Palestinians and an Israeli soldier were reported killed Thursday

The Israeli army created a buffer zone in northern Gaza as it widened its offensive against the Palestinians, upping the pressure on the embattled Hamas-led government to free a captured soldier and stop rocket attacks.

The draft demands that "Israel, the occupying power, immediately cease its aggression against the Palestinian civilian population in the occupied Palestinian territory, withdraw its forces to positions outside the Gaza Strip and release all the Palestinian officials it has detained."

Boo frickin hoo. Maybe if the Hamas-led Palestinians would stop shelling, kidnapping, and blowing themselves up, maybe Israel will stop. Frankly, even if they gave Israel back its personnel, I'd be hardly in a mood to stop. This crap needs to end. Getting rid of Hamas might just be the trick.

How's that foot taste, Joe?

Biden sticks his foot in his mouth yet again. At least this time it was an original thought.

In thanking a young Indian-American man for the support of his Indian-American group, Sen. Biden touts how Indians are the fastest growing immigrant group in Delaware and says, “You CANNOT go into a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts without an Indian accent.”

What an f'ing doofus. This guy is from Delaware, right? Guess there are some racists left in the People's Republic of Delaware.
